Wayne Dyer (1940-2015)
A reknowned inspirational author and motivational speaker passed away suddenly on the 29th of August 2015. Sunday, Dr Wayne W. Dyer went peacefully in his sleep. He had been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia in 2009, which he had treated by means of positive thinking, daily exercise and “psychic surgery”. The cause of his death has not been given free as yet.
A very recent quote on Facebook, 28th of August might have been a hint that he knew his life had come to an end. Though on his page had been regular posts for his 2016 calendar and this might just as well be another quote on that same calendar:
“I have a suit in my closet with the pocket cut out. It’s a reminder to me that I won’t be taking anything with me. The last I wear won’t need any pockets.”
Wayne W. Dyer was an internationally renowned author and speaker in the fields of self-development and spiritual growth. He wrote over 40 books, including 20 New York Times bestsellers, and created dozens of audio and video programs. He appeared on thousands of television and radio shows. He was a big part of PBS for over 40 years. The last years of his life though he spent by living simply: He had sold everything to live according to the Tao Te Ching, while continuing his work.
Starting out in foster homes Wayne’s life was quite a journey too; He was living proof of his message: “you can take charge of your own thinking and life”. His way of being was positive, infectious and full of humor.
A quote I love the most, is about how one should be:
“My beliefs are that the truth is a truth until you organize it, and then becomes a lie. I don’t think that Jesus was teaching Christianity, Jesus was teaching kindness, love, concern, and peace. What I tell people is don’t be Christian, be Christ-like. Don’t be Buddhist, be Buddha-like.”
Family message on his Facebook page, 31-8-2015:
“Wayne has left his body, passing away through the night. He always said he couldn’t wait for this next adventure to begin and had no fear of dying. Our hearts are broken, but we smile to think of how much our scurvy elephant will enjoy the other side.
We Love You Forever Dad/Wayne
The Dyer Family”
The family shared this recent video “The Shift” for a week, for Wayne loved to share it with as many people as possible;
May all he left behind find peace and consolation;
May he enjoy his next adventure fully.
Thank you for touching so many lives in a positive way!
